Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of community engagement and experiential learning through a service-learning approach. This activity described the process and results of optimizing education and religious activities through KKN Group 13 in Pondok Tani Village, Batam City. A qualitative descriptive and participatory method was used through observation, partner coordination, activity records, and documentation. Programs included TPQ teaching and worship practice, Islamic studies, Islamic competitions, provision of religious facilities, community clean-up activities, and social programs. Results indicated support for TPQ learning, increased opportunities for worship practice, enrichment of religious activities, supporting facilities, and stronger interaction between students and the community. The service-learning approach enabled students to connect academic knowledge with direct social experience. Thus, needs-based KKN using local assets can benefit communities while providing valuable contextual learning experiences for students
