Kabandungan District, Sukabumi Regency, is a buffer zone of Gunung Gede Halimun Salak National Park, where local communities depend heavily on forest resources. This community service program aimed to enhance elementary school students' knowledge and awareness of environmental conservation through interactive education and hands-on planting activities. Conducted on September 11, 2026, at SD Pajagan, the program involved 120 students from grades II–VI and their teachers. Activities included interactive education, question-and-answer sessions, and planting red sealing wax palms (Cyrtostachys renda). Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-tests and post-tests involving 97 students from grades III–VI. Results showed an increase in mean knowledge scores from 81.96 to 96.49 (t = 6.60; df = 96; p < 0.001; d = 0.67). No significant gender differences were found in post-test scores. These findings suggest that experiential education is associated with improved environmental conservation knowledge among elementary school students in conservation buffer zones.
